Lanyards have long been the companion of the sailor. They have known about and used the lanyard for hundreds of years, and they truly understand and appreciate their value. Sailors have learnt that in many situations, they need to have a small item right at hand, but they need to have their hands free to do other things. To aid them in their daily work, they use the lanyard. In the busy high tech world of today, a lanyard can be very useful. And one way that the lanyard can and does prove to be invaluable is in helping us to have our keys handy all the time.
To be able to meet the bills and have a decent quality of life, the two income family has become the norm. As a result of this, young children often arrive home from school before their parents have finished working for the day. Children who do get home before their parents will need to have their own keys to get into the house or apartment.
In days past many people would have a key hidden somewhere in their yard or close to the door. This is no longer a reliable or safe way of allowing the children to enter the home. One thing that various parents are doing is providing youngsters with lanyards on which to carry their keys. A simple neck lanyard can be worn under the child’s shirt all day long and nobody has to know that that it is there. This also means that by keeping the keys on their person the child will not forget the keys in their pocket, locker or desk. They will not accidentally leave them behind if they stop at the local playground or at a friend’s house on their way home either.
Adults are learning that the very best place for their keys is on a lanyard. Many women like to carry a purse and they like to make certain that their purse matches their outfit and is seasonal. However, some of the more stylish purses may be too small to accommodate all of the items that are needed. They do not have room for their ID, cell phone and keys. Rather than trying to squish everything into a small purse women are wearing lanyards.
Lanyards also proves to be very useful if the purse being used is extremely large. There is nothing quite as frustrating as standing beside your car in the pouring rain and digging through your purse trying to locate your keys, which somehow always manage to find their way to the very bottom. As well as nobody likes to stand around at the door while they dig and hunt for those elusive keys either.
The other major benefit of having keys on a lanyard is visibility. Lanyards can be very easily seen and for those people who have the habit of coming home and tossing their keys onto a counter or desk, this simple device will make finding them all the easier. Another added bonus of using a lanyard is to keep keys separate. It is very easy to use certain colors of lanyards for certain keys; i.e. all keys for the garage could be kept on a green lanyard and any house and office keys would be on a red one. By using this simple system it will make it much easier to quickly grab the keys that you need without having to think about it.
Lanyards and keys are a perfect combination. The lanyard helps to ensure that everyone in the house has their own keys and has a way of keeping them safe.
