Eye lid surgery is popularly known as blepharoplasty; it is a popular plastic surgery option for surgical removal of excess skin, fat or muscle from lower and upper eyelids. Blepharoplasty can treat baggy eye at under eye zone, puffiness of eye, and problems like tired eye look by treating sinking upper eyelids or drooping eyelash problems etc. The surgery blepharoplasty often treats the problem called ptosis which causes blocked vision and eyelids are in hanging position.
However, by blepharoplasty or eye lid surgery method drooping eyelids can be rectified but it is not a surgical solution for wrinkles and eyebrows. The surgery of blepharoplasty is not recommended for the candidates who are suffering from any of these diseases like dry eye syndrome, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hypothyroidism, glaucoma, or Grave’s diseases. Personal health condition also plays major role in evaluation of suitability of candidacy.
The post surgery care after blepharoplasty is quite crucial. The eyes are kept under coverage of bandage with lubrication after surgery. Oral medications are prescribed to reduce pain and other surgery induced discomforts. In most of the cases doctors suggest for antibiotic in order to resist the chance of infection on the surgical point.

The common instructions are to clean eyes properly and carefully, frequent use of cold compress, use of prescribed lubricating eye drops, keeping the head in elevated condition, not to use any make up on eye as well as on facial skin, etc. Initial prohibition is set on boozing, wearing contact lenses, and watching television and movies etc. for faster recovery. In general stitches are removed after one week of surgery. The patients are suggested to use sunglass and protective sun blocks for quite along time for better precaution.
