Plastic surgery for nose

Nose plastic surgery is medically termed as Rhinoplasty; this type of plastic surgery is done for redesigning of nose. Rhinoplasty is one of the most common plastic surgery practices.

Plastic surgery of nose can increase, decrease, or can modify the size of nose tip or can reshape the bridge, decrease the size of nostrils, and alter the angle in between nose and upper lip. Other than fixing these anomalies, any type of physical birth defect or injury scar can also be fixed by the use of nose plastic surgery.

When an individual decides to go for Rhinoplasty, he/she should have some realistic expectation about the result of the surgery. The motive behind nose plastic surgery is having correction of the present discrepancy of the patients whereas the surgery is never meant to create a perfect look.  Those are healthy, psychologically strong, and have realistic bend of mind, are considered as suitable candidate for nose plastic surgery. In general age is one of the greatest considerations for nose plastic surgery and surgeons prefer around 15 years of age for the girls and 18 years of age for a boy to avail the treatment of nose plastic surgery.

Although nose plastic surgery is done by qualified and experienced plastic surgeons, there is dire chance to have some post-operative complications. Most of the complications are found of minor type and some of the instances of common complications are nosebleed, infection, or some adverse reaction against anesthesia.

In some instances, a second procedure for correction is often required for the perfect or desired result of nose plastic surgery. However, these unpredictable complications can be occurred by most experienced plastic surgeons. However, it is always good to ask the surgeon about the possible complications out of the surgical process and also it is good to discuss the corrective procedures of the possible defects. The expectation of a patient and the realistic result of the plastic surgery should be made cleared before the process of plastic surgery is executed.

Although there is no fixed time for a nose plastic surgery to be completed, in general it takes 2-3 hours time to complete the entire procedure of surgery. However the duration of surgical operation depends on factors like the problem of the patient, perfection level of the doctor, and on the preferred technique of the attending doctors.

After nose plastic surgery, some precautions should be felt by the patient. A brief discussion on the initial discomforts and complications is done here.

Initially the patient may feel pain, blocked nose problem, and puffiness on face. It is better to take prescribed medicines as well as it is wise to take 1-2 days bed rest for faster recovery.

Nose plastic surgery can rectify any defect on nose, but it is unrealistic to imagine that after surgery the nose will be perfect. There should be  logical balance between expectation and practical possibilities.
